The underside of the ship remained a mystery - until September 17th, when a production sketch of the Enterprise was shown in the background of an interview held during the BBC Star Trek night. (thanks to "DoctorWho"!)
The back view of the ship was revealed on Sept 19th, in one of last new Enterprise promos before the premiere of Broken Bow in the following week. The shot was part of the warp sequence of the ship, that seems to be a visual mixture of the TNG effect and the "rainbow" trail effect of the TOS feature films.
