About this special

The adventure is just beginning (November 2001)

Now that "Enterprise" is running very successfully in America and a good part of the first season has already aired, this Star Trek Dimension special could have fulfilled its function to capture the time until the launch of the new Star Trek series with impressions, reports and much multimedia material. For daily news and spoilers on the new series, and material for the most recent episodes, there are indeed numerous very competent Enterprise sites, however, this project, which will of course stay online with all up to now published material (after all, most of the world has yet to face the launch of "Enterprise" , will continue to focus on general information on the series, the cast and the ship, so that you will get regular updates in these sections. Not only the multimedia section will be updated with more exclusive files - music, sounds, wallpapers designed by the webmaster -, and the now fully integrated, "Enterprise" related parts of the Star Trek Dimension, e.g. the detailed episode guide on the series and the occasionally published, comprehensive columns, will be regularly extended as well. You will find an overview on the last updates in this project below on this page.

Now I hope you'll enjoy this journey back to where it all began...

The "Enterprise" premiere (September 2001)

On September 26, 2001, the Enterprise pilot "Broken Bow" finally aired... at least in the US. All who have to wait some more time or want to know something about it before the US premiere, can experience the series launch here in the Star Trek Dimension - with screen shots, music, opinions and more! Already on Sept 26, specials were put online, as paradoxically the pilot was already shown a day earlier in Canada, i.e. before the premiere in the country where it was produced! (that goes back to an old tradition which created a lot of fuss already during the days of the Original Series, as the episodes had to be complete one day earlier especially for Canada!). To simplify matters, you will find links to all multimedia and information files, which were published in view of the pilot premiere and are scattered over the various Companion chapters, below. Everything what was already avaiable  - including the high quality shots of the trailers and the photos - will of course remain online. Enjoy!

Why a special? (June 2001)

"Enterprise" - this is the word most often used in Trek fandom at the moment. No matter if loved or loathed, the new Star Trek series is discussed to death by the fans in newsgroups, message boards, e-mails, it is prominently featured in television and newspapers, presented by the producers to critics, journalists and of course the fans.
Of course, the Star Trek Dimension doesn't want to exclude the newest member of the Star Trek family. While I haven't yet decided if I will make "Enterprise" a part of the various regular Star Trek projects on this site (the database and the episode guides, for example), as I reserve my judgment on the "Trekness" of the new show until after the pilot has aired, I have compiled this concise, but complete special report on everything we already know about the fifth series - from the cast over the ship to the first episode. As I am digging the net on "Enterprise" for many months now, you will find all the facts, figures and rumors (of course marked as such!) from early March up to now, pictures (many of which have larger versions that can be accessed by clicking) as well as rare information and material only avaiable on this page, presented in a distinct, summary-like form. This project will be updated regularly until the new show has started in late September. Please pay attention to the credits for the sources for the information (sometimes directly given in parantheses and italics). Additionally, you will find a lot of links to other sites where you will find more on a specific topic. Of course, the webmaster takes no responsibility for the content presented there.
